$60,000 Raised in first ever “Fighting Covid Together” a virtual gala auction in support of Six BC Organizations

Over 600 bidders logged in to the Able Auctions website Saturday night to support a first-ever charitable gala auction, Fighting COVID Together, raising $60,000!

Six of British Columbia’s most well respected philanthropic organizations came together Saturday to raise funds in support of their work during the COVID-19 pandemic. They were:

• Downtown Eastside Women’s Association
• Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation
• UBC VGH Hospital Foundation
• Sources Foundation
• Variety – the Children’s Charity of BC
• Dr. Peter AIDS Foundation

“We are over the moon with these results and the profile this event gave to these most worthy organizations,” said co-organizer Tracey Wade.

“This event could not have been possible without the generous assistance of Jeremy Dodd and his fantastic team at Able Auctions. 100% of all proceeds went directly back to the charitable organizations as Able Auctions donated everything for this event!” said co-organizer Howard Blank.

The concept for Fighting COVID Together came about when Howard Blank, (www.howardblanklive.com) known for mixing his love for philanthropy and his skill for hosting and auctioneering, wanted to do something to help all the charities he cares so much about. He turned to his friends at Able Auctions (www.ableauctions.ca) and event expert Tracey Wade, Laura Ballance (lbmg.ca), and Rebecca Bollwitt (miss604.com), and Fighting COVID Together was created.
